ADES project also aims to benefit from RFID technology. The RF module is assumed to use information gathered from the RFID tags which are placed special points on the roads. An RFID system consists of an antenna and a transceiver which can read the radio frequency and transfer the information to a processing device (reader). The system also includes a transponder, or RF tag, which contains the RF circuitry and information to be transmitted. The antenna provides the means for the integrated circuit to transmit its information to the reader that converts the radio waves reflected back from the RFID tag into digital information that can then be passed on to computers that can analyze the data.

The implementation of the RFID technology for the proposed application will contain a RF reader which is capable of reading tags up to a few meters. In addition, RFID tags will be placed at certain places to detect traffic rule violations. The system will then be able to conclude that the driver violates the traffic rule if the RF reader on the vehicle detects the RFID tags in specific order.
